Calling all road warriors! The National Account Manager is a driven, goal oriented sales professional who is responsible for the obtainment of new accounts and business while managing the growth of current accounts. He or she is an aggressive and dedicated self-starter ready to grow in a sales role under the guidance and direction of our Vice President of Sales. The National Account Manager will be based in Chicago and can expect to prospect over the phone, face-to-face, through networking activities, and by building referral partnerships managing a remote territory that will require 70% travel.

What your day could consist of:  

  • Actively hunts and brings in new business
  • Grows and manages current accounts
  • Conducts face to face meetings with customers
  • Evaluates market trends and recommends services to customers based on business needs and goals by being informed of market conditions, services and competitors’ services, prices and sales
  • Partners with Logistics Account Executives and Carrier Representatives to ensure revenue, volume, and margin align with budget
  • Communicates and understands company’s vision, core passion, value propositions and culture to reinforce decisions, processes, and roles within that context
  • Is deeply and broadly involved in the industry through participation in external associations and events, forming and growing relationships with customers and understanding the capabilities of our competitors
  • Exhibits and promotes a positive team environment and is an ambassador of the company culture
  • Suggests business process improvements to gain efficiency within the role

What is needed for success:

  • 2 -3 years sales experience with strong track record of success
  • Must be willing to travel up to 70% of the time
  • Associates Degree or equivalent work experience

What is nice to have:

  • Previous outside sales experience
  • Experience closing in a fast sales cycle
  • Prior experience in the logistics industry
