The National Account Manager is an effective leader guiding and overseeing the growth of new accounts along with increase growth with current accounts. He or she is an aggressive and dedicated self-starter ready to grow in a sales role. The National Account Manager prospects over the phone, face-to-face, through networks, and building referral partnerships that requires 70% of travel.

Day to Day Responsibilities:

  • Grows and manages current accounts
  • Actively hunts and brings in new accounts
  • Conducts face to face meetings with customers
  • Evaluates market trends and recommends services to customers based on business needs and goals
  • Be informed of market conditions, services and competitors’ services, prices and sales
  • Keeps management informed by submitting activity and results reports, such as weekly reports, and monthly and annual territory analyses
  • Resolves customer complaints by investing problems; developing solutions and preparing reports
  • Partners with Logistics Account Executives and Carrier Representatives with accounts
  • Works with Vice President of Sales to define and drive team vision, strategic and operational goals and drive associated project plans to successful completion
  • Is deeply and broadly involved in the industry through participation in external associations and events, forming and growing relationships with customers and understanding the capabilities of our competitors

Basic Qualifications:

  • Associates Degree
  • 2 -3 years sales experience with strong track record of success
  • Ability to multi-task, prioritize and manage time effectively

Referred Qualifications:

  • Bachelors Degree
  • Previous outside sales experience
  • Strong business sense
